Klerksdorp-Tshepong Alumni Dr gives back to the Khuma community.
On the 25th of Auguts 2023, Dr Molokomme and her team from Phenomenal Young Persons (NPO) held their annual Academic Excellence conference at the Dirang kanatla high school in Khuma for the soon writing Matriculants class of 2023. The ceremony was a humongous success both embraced by the school teachers and members of the SGB as this would encourage and inspire the class of 2023 to pull their socks and increase their chances of success by obtaining good marks in class.
Dr Molokomme adopted the school in 2021 when she held her first Academy Excellence ceremony in the school when she was in her second year internship in the Klerksdorp-Tshepong Complex. Her and her team have since then held this ceremony annually making this year the third one. This year’s ceremony wasn’t short of glory and excitement as the good doctor and her team brought 95 gift bags for the class of 2023, over 55 academic Excellence awards certificates were given to the to the top achieving learners in matric. The goodie bag we must say that they were timely for the learners as they were about to comemmence with their preliminary examinations. They consisted of a pen, pencil, daily devotional, Recreating your world book, sanitary pad for the girls and roll on the boy learners.
‘We are always ever so thrilled to come back to this school, the learners are so sincere and this has become the function they look forward to with excitement and expectation and each year it keeps on getting bigger and better’ remarked the CEO & founder of Phenomenal Young Persons Dr Molokomme. Her organisation has been impacting young lives all over South Africa in High Schools and in townships since 2017 and has influenced over 15 000 Young people since inception. She solely funds her own projects and her and her team are welcoming anyone who might have interest in either joining hands on the ground for the work or sponsoring these kind of outreaches.
Dr Molokomme is also a devout Christian and doesn’t deny anyone the opportunity to come to Christ whenever she is given plartform, at the ceremony she led over 40 learners in a prayer of salvation leading them to Christ. ‘We have seen great improvement even in the school’s performance since the Dr adopted our school in 2021. One of our leaners from last year matriculated with 4 distinctions and is currently furthering her studies at Wits University’ said Ms Ramohapi Deputy Principal expressing her gratitude to the Phenomenal Young Persons team.
Both the school and the learners were super excited and grateful and are looking forward to the next ceremony with vigor and enthusiasm and preparations for the next year’s outreach are already under way.
